The KryoVue™ Tissue Preservation System is a
double-bag "Peel-Pouch" currently used for the cryogenic storage of
human tissue. These patented pouches are constructed of a unique
film consisting of an outer layer of high strength Kapton®
polyamide laminated to an inner layer of material®
FEP fluoropolymer. This film has remarkable temperature ranges, is
impermeable, chemically resistant and transparent with a light amber
tint. The Peel-Pouch is manufactured without adhesives, with or
without a vacuum port and can be fabricated into any size.

Asked Questions section to find out more.
Temperature Range
The "Peel-Pouch" Tissue Preservation System has a
remarkable temperature range; from -196° C to > +121° C. The bags
were designed for storage in liquid nitrogen while remaining
flexible. They will not rupture or break.
Peel-Pouch System
The "Peel-Pouch" with a chevron shaped opening was
designed so that the end user simply peels open the package, exactly
like any other autoclavable pouch. Customers are very familiar with
this procedure and prefer it to cutting open bags.
Sealing the Pouch
Afc has developed a heat sealer that is fully
autoclavable. This table-top unit is easy to operate and produces
the seal force and temperature required by the FEP. Simply insert
the tissue bag into the open end of the Kapton bag and heat seal. It
is then ready for storage. Other sealers can be used.
Silk Screening
The "Peel-Pouch" comes with or without printing. Most
prefer a custom logo that is silk-screened on the pouch with
designated areas for specific written information (lot number, date,
etc.).
